Using Forest Therapy in Your Counselling Practice
September 8 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Matt Glover is the Lead Guide at Forest Therapy Victoria and the director of MGA Counselling Services. He is a trauma informed counsellor, working with individuals and couples to achieve full and abundant life. He is Australia’s first qualified counsellor to be accredited with the International Nature and Forest Therapy Alliance.
This PD is designed for those currently working as a counsellor, psychologist, social worker, spiritual carer, or any type of ‘people helping’ role. This is a practical workshop where you will get to experience the benefits of Forest Therapy for yourself, as well as learn a little about the latest research into nature and wellbeing.
Join Matt for this unique PD experience to learn more about Forest Therapy and how to use it in your own counselling practice.
Forest Therapy is an emerging field in the health and wellbeing industry. With recognised beneficial impacts on our immune systems, heart rate, concentration, sleep patterns, and general wellbeing, this is three hours well spent!
Combining a gentle walk with forest therapy activities, participants will experience nature in a whole new way.
On the day of your walk, it is essential you bring the following:
Covered, walking shoes – no open toed shoes please!
Water bottle and snacks. (While social distancing restrictions are in place we will not be doing shared snacks at the end of the walk)
Pen and notebook
Clothing appropriate to the weather conditions.
Please ensure you are wearing sunscreen.
Note that the walk will be cancelled if the weather conditions are deemed to be too dangerous.
